AdWords Express: Good or Bad for Small Business?

Google recently released a super-simplified alternative to AdWords called AdWords Express. The product is basically a simplified front-end for AdWords where all you have to do is create an ad, enter a budget, and select an advertising category and you’re up and running.

It’s targeted toward small, local businesses, and in post I’ll introduce you to AdWords Express and talk about whether or not it’s good or bad for small businesses as well as AdWords agencies.

  1. Thank you for this video. I came to the same conclusion myself, nice to know you agree. I think “prospects” will understand after viewing this segment.

  2. Hey John,

Google is pushing more towards big brands and paid search. There are even some gross cases where the first organic (aka FREE) listing isn’t even above the fold!

Google is looking out for #1, themselves, and pushing an easy-to-use cash generator to millions of business makes sense for their bottom line.

    I agree with you totally.

It’s going to hurt the selling process and undermine what agencies do, when “I can do the “same” thing in 5 minutes”

Plus G is going to collect the millions in under optimized ad spend…

I think the “do no evil” era is sadly over.

    • Google’s definitely looking out for #1. That’s something people seem to forget a lot. They’re a for-profit company so they should be looking out for the bottom line, but that means some of the things they do are not going to be in the best interest of everyone else. Haha…yeah “do no evil” is definitely gone :-)
